This page explains the general Vamos Bet football betting rules for prematch and live markets. It covers football bet settlement, 90 minutes, extra time, penalty shootouts, cancelled matches, odds changes and official result corrections. Before placing a bet, always check the market name, the time period covered and any special conditions shown in your bet slip. Where a specific market description differs from this page, the conditions displayed for that market apply.

Football betting rules at Vamos Bet

Vamos Bet aims to settle football bets according to published market rules and official event data. Football markets can cover different periods of a match, so a “win” in one market may not mean the same thing in another. For example, a Match Result bet is commonly settled on normal time, while a “To Qualify” market may include extra time and a penalty shootout where stated.

Please read the market title carefully before confirming a stake. Terms such as 90 minutes, including extra time, to qualify and outright winner describe how that football bet may be settled.

Standard settlement time: 90 minutes

For most football markets, settlement is based on 90 minutes of play plus referee-added stoppage time. This includes added time at the end of the first and second halves. It does not include extra time or a penalty shootout unless the market clearly says that these are included.

Markets that are usually based on 90 minutes football betting include:

  • Match Result / 1X2
  • Double Chance
  • Total Goals
  • Handicap
  • Both Teams to Score

For example, if a match is 1:1 after normal time and Team A wins in extra time, a 1X2 bet on Team A is normally a losing bet when the market was for 90 minutes. Stoppage time is part of normal time; extra time begins only after the standard match period has ended.

When extra time counts

Extra time football betting applies only where the market name or specific rules say it applies. Common examples may include markets labelled “including extra time,” “To Qualify,” “Winner of Tie,” “Team to Lift the Trophy” or “Outright Winner.”

A bet on a team to qualify may include the result after extra time and penalties if this is stated in the market rules. This is different from a standard Match Result market. Do not assume that extra time is included simply because the match is a knockout fixture.

How penalties are settled

A penalty awarded and scored during normal time or extra time is a match event. It may count towards goals, totals and other applicable markets if the relevant period is included in that market.

A penalty shootout is different. It is the tie-breaking procedure held after a draw in a knockout match. Shootout goals usually do not count as match goals for 90-minute totals, handicaps or both-teams-to-score markets. However, the shootout result may determine settlement for a qualification, trophy or outright market where penalties are included.

In short: a penalty during the match is not the same as a penalty shootout. Check the specific penalty shootout betting rules displayed for the market before placing a bet.

Cancelled, postponed and abandoned matches

A cancelled football match bet, postponed football match betting market or abandoned event may be settled differently depending on the market and the applicable Vamos Bet rules. The listed event time, completion deadline and competition conditions can be relevant.

  • Cancelled before kick-off: the bet may be void and the stake returned, unless a specific market rule provides otherwise.
  • Postponed before kick-off: the bet may remain open if the match is played within the period set out in the applicable rules, or it may be void if it is not played within that period.
  • Abandoned after kick-off: markets with an outcome already unquestionably determined before the interruption may be settled where permitted by the market rules. Other bets may be void.
  • Completed later: settlement may use the official result once the match is completed, subject to the relevant completion-time rules.
  • Incorrect event details: bets affected by a clear error in the listed teams, date, competition or market may be reviewed under the applicable rules.

Do not rely on a general expectation of a refund stake in every situation. The outcome of a void bet, cancelled bet or interrupted match is governed by the relevant market rules and the applicable terms.

Live football betting settlement

Live football betting rules reflect the speed of events during a match. Odds can change quickly after a goal, red card, penalty, dangerous attack, VAR review or other significant event. A market may be suspended while data is reviewed and reopened with updated odds.

When you submit a live bet, it may be accepted, offered at revised odds, delayed for confirmation or rejected if the market changes before acceptance. A submitted selection is not an accepted bet until the bet slip confirms it. Visit Vamos Bet live to view available in-play events.

Odds changes and bet confirmation

A football odds change can occur between selecting a market and confirming the bet. The final odds are those shown on the accepted bet confirmation, not necessarily the odds first displayed on the event page. If odds change before acceptance, the system may present new odds or decline the request.

Check your bet slip before confirmation, especially during live football. Review the selection, market, odds, stake and possible return shown in the slip. If a bet is rejected, no accepted wager has been created.

VAR, official data and result corrections

VAR decisions can confirm, cancel or change an on-field event. For this reason, a goal, card or penalty market may be suspended while an incident is checked. Football bet settlement is based on confirmed event information and the applicable market rules, rather than an unconfirmed live display.

If an official source later corrects a result or match statistic, Vamos Bet may review settlement in line with its Terms and Conditions. This can include corrections to goals, cards, corners, player participation or the official match result.

Player, cards and corners markets

Player markets, cards and corners can have additional conditions. Check the specific market rules before placing a bet.

  • Player markets: availability, participation and settlement may depend on whether the player takes part in the match and on the market conditions.
  • Goalscorer markets: own goals are normally treated according to the official scorer and the market rules.
  • Cards: rules may specify whether only cards shown to players on the field count, or whether other disciplinary actions are included.
  • Corners: settlement generally follows officially recorded corners. A corner that is not officially awarded or taken may not count.

Examples of football bet settlement

Scenario: A match is 1:1 after 90 minutes, then Team A wins 2:1 in extra time.
Settlement: A 1X2 bet on Team A loses if it was a 90-minute market. A market explicitly including extra time may be settled differently.
Scenario: A match ends 0:0 after extra time and Team B wins the shootout.
Settlement: Total Goals Over 0.5 for 90 minutes loses. Shootout kicks do not normally add to match-goal totals.
Scenario: A fixture is cancelled before kick-off.
Settlement: The bet may be void, subject to the market-specific cancellation and postponement rules.
Scenario: A live bet is submitted while VAR reviews a possible goal.
Settlement: The request may wait for confirmation, be accepted at updated odds or be rejected if the market is suspended or changed.
Scenario: A bet is placed on Team A “To Qualify.”
Settlement: Extra time and penalties may count when the market description states that qualification is decided by the final tie outcome.

Responsible football betting

Football betting should be entertainment, not a way to earn money. Only bet what you can afford to lose, and consider using deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion or support options if betting is becoming difficult to control. Read the Responsible Gaming information and the Age Restriction Policy before using betting services.
